FAQ

How much gravel do I need?

Calculate the volume of your project area (Length × Width × Depth), then multiply by the density of your chosen gravel type. Add a waste factor (typically 10%) to account for compaction and spillage.

What is the waste factor?

The waste factor accounts for compaction, spillage, and irregular shapes. A 10% waste factor is recommended for most projects. Tight, well-measured projects may use 5%, while complex shapes may need 15%.

What gravel type should I choose?

Pea Gravel is best for paths and decorative areas. Crushed Stone is ideal for driveways and patios due to its compaction. River Rock is great for drainage and landscaping. Marble Chips are perfect for decorative garden paths.

How do I convert between metric and imperial?

Simply select your preferred unit system in the calculator. The tool handles all conversions automatically. 1 meter = 3.281 feet, 1 foot = 30.48 centimeters.

Is my project data private?

Yes, absolutely. All calculations happen inside your browser. No project dimensions or data is ever sent to a server.
